LEGO Party! is officially launching on September 30, and I can already hear the sound of falling bricks and competitive minifigure madness echoing through my home.
If you’ve ever wanted to battle your friends and family in wacky LEGO-themed minigames without stepping on those tiny plastic pieces, now’s your chance.
I’m ready to jump in, customize my own minifigure, and go head-to-head in more than 60 party games inspired by classic LEGO sets. There’s even a reward for early birds—every pre-order gets five digital minifigures, including one that I’m pretty sure will fit right in with my questionable dance moves.
Check out all the details and updates on the LEGO Party! release date and what’s coming to your favorite console.
Official Launch Date
LEGO Party! launches September 30, 2025. I can’t tell if this means the holiday season starts early, but I’m ready for brick-smashing minigame chaos before Halloween candy even hits the shelves.
SMG Studio announced the date, so if my alarm is set wrong, blame them. That means only a few months stand between me and my first lost virtual LEGO piece.
The quick turnaround from its big reveal to release is honestly unusual for games, so at least I won’t be waiting forever. September tends to be a wild month for game releases, but seeing a new LEGO entry drop before October feels right.
I’ll finally be able to answer burning questions like, “Is it better than Mario Party?” and “Do LEGO dragons breathe real fire?” (Spoiler: They don’t, but I’m still excited.)
Supported Platforms and Consoles
LEGO Party! is not making me buy another console—thank goodness. The game is rolling out for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It’s skipping the imaginary “LEGO Brick Console,” but otherwise, everyone’s covered, past and present. This game is truly multiplatform, so I don’t have to swap cables or dig out dusty old boxes.
PC gamers (like me, sometimes) can grab it via Steam. Xbox folks get both generations, and PlayStation has you covered whether you’re PS4 or PS5.
New Trailer Highlights
The new LEGO Party! trailer isn’t shy about showing off minigame madness. I watched as LEGO minifigures dodged dragons, wrangled cobras, and got clobbered by physics-based obstacles.
It honestly reminded me of Mario Party, but with a bit more brick-built chaos and fewer questionable “friendships” lost to blue shells. Each Challenge Zone (yes, that’s what they’re called) looks like its own mini board game, filled with traps and challenges I’d probably fail on my first five attempts.
There are sneak peeks at dozens of minigames—SMG Studio said there are about 60—which explains why the trailer feels like rapid-fire party game action. The visuals are as colorful as a Lego box spilled on the floor in the dark.
The trailer even highlights custom minifigure options, so my avatar can finally look just as chaotic as my actual LEGO collection. If you’re curious or need more chaos in your day, check out the official trailer reveal and new details.
Multiplayer and Four-Player Modes
I love games that let my friends join in, and LEGO Party! supports up to four players at once. It’s got couch co-op, online play, and free-for-all action.
I get to compete directly against my friends or wild family members, hoping for bragging rights that last at least until dinner. Each player picks or creates a custom LEGO minifig, and then we all travel across the board game map together.
Minigames and Level Variety
Every time I think I’ve seen every LEGO minigame, another wild challenge pops up. LEGO Party! boasts 60 unique minigames spread across its “Challenge Zones.”
Each minigame is built with the classic blocky graphics and goofy humor I expect from LEGO. In one round, I’m jumping over a LEGO cobra.
In another, all I have to do is survive falling bricks or outrun a blocky dragon. The game boards themselves shake things up by offering different themes and twists for every session.
There is enough randomness to keep sneaky strategies just as useful as pure luck. No matter how many times I play, I am bound to run into new combos of games and board events, which keeps the experience fresh and avoids that “seen it all” feeling.
Inspiration from Mario Party
Let’s be honest, LEGO Party! is taking serious notes from Mario Party, and I’m all for it. Moving around the board, collecting goodies, triggering random events—it brings back memories of epic Mario Party nights but swaps plumbers for plastic minifigs.
If I’ve ever explained Mario Party to someone, I can explain LEGO Party! the same way: Race around the board, win in minigames, and hope that luck is on your side. That familiar formula makes it easy for anyone to jump in without needing to memorize a rulebook thicker than a LEGO instruction manual.
With its nods to Nintendo Switch’s party classics, LEGO Party! feels both familiar and refreshingly chaotic. It might not have mushrooms or Koopa Troopas, but it does have everything I need for a silly, memorable competition.
Preorder Bonuses and Special Content
If there’s one thing that tempts me almost as much as a secret minigame, it’s exclusive content. Preordering LEGO Party! gets me a bonus “Pre-Order Pack” with five extra LEGO minifigures in-game.
The exact characters? Still a mystery. They won’t be immediately available to everyone else, so for once, my little avatar might actually stand out.
The physical version is priced at $44.99. Digital copies are a bit cheaper, ranging from $35.99 to $39.99, depending on the platform.
I can grab LEGO Party! for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, or PC. Honestly, it makes it way too easy to start convincing friends that “yes, you absolutely need to get this.”
